Moxon!

When ya hitting the road again and where? A group of dedicated moxonites wants you to go to Mongolia and report back. Our preferences in the matter notwithstanding, do fill us in on any up and coming plans, schemes, etc.

Hi Pallavi.

My next plan is to go to Cuba in mid-March, which should be interesting. For a while I've been wanting to get there while Castro is still in power, and at last I've managed to get the time and the money together. Assuming there's something to write about and some good photo opportunities, you'll be able to read all about it soon after I get back. I've started learning Spanish this morning, so hopefully I'll be able to understand what on Earth is going on... 😀

I'm also off to Vancouver in April for a week, and I hope to get a bit of trekking in, so there might be something to write about there, but it might end up being a holiday where I decide it's just too much effort to write. We'll see.

As for Mongolia, that would be a treat, but as I'm currently having to earn my living with a normal, full-time job, it might be a little while before I can take off serious amounts of time (and somewhere like Mongolia deserves serious amounts of time). However, it won't be like this forever... and in the meantime there are Cuba and Vancouver to look forward to, plus possibly another trip around Christmas 2005. Watch this space!

Thanks for posting, and happy travels.

Best wishes,

Mark

Don't encourage him too much Pallavi - the wanderlust might just kick in - and it's really nice to have him home, for a while at least! 😉

Hi Mark,

Happy to hear that you will be heading to Latinamerica.

Are you travelling alone?

Do you need a translator? 😀

Saludos,

Sarah

Hi Sarah.

I never travel alone - at the very least I always pack my snowman, just in case a photo opportunity comes along (try searching my photo library for 'snowman' to see what I mean). 😀

But happily, I'm off to Cuba with the love of my life, which makes travelling so much easier. And I can talk to her in English when my Spanish fails to be understood... which will probably be most of the time. 😲

I can't wait!

Mark

I run an orphanage, so I don't get to travel too much. I get to live vicariously through him. Nothing better than a good giggle over the travelogues after a long day of nappies, runny noses and the bizarre yet sometimes deadly accurate logic of 4 year olds 😀. But I scored a trip for you too so it works out 😀. Hey maybe you'll report in also!

Hi Pallavi.

Well, the friends of mine who have children say that life with kids is a journey in itself, so I guess we're both travellers!

As for Peta, she's already been reporting in one form. My camera broke in the desert heat of Morocco, so 16 of the photos in that section were taken by Peta. They're rather good, too... 😀

I guess it's teamwork!

Best wishes,

Mark

Hi Mark,

I can't wait to read about Cuba!! Have great time in Cuba!!!

Hello Pallavi,

Are you based out of India? Where do you run the orphanage? I think you have a wonderful job. I am sure your work is as rewarding and exciting as Mark's travels. 😀

Take care,
Kaya

Thanks Kaya, I'm sure I will. I'm getting the pack all ready as we speak! 😀

Hopefully you'll be able to read all about it here soon after my return...
