Subject: "She's apples" - what's it mean?

Aussies actually stole this phrase from Cockney rhyming slang. It's a contraction of "She's apples and spice", meaning "It's nice".

Another one: "Time to hit the frog", which means to drive off. I'll let you work that one out.

Hi Tucker.

Ah! So that's what it's all about! I couldn't work it out - I kept thinking it was short for 'apples and pears' (Cockney rhyming slang for stairs), which of course makes no sense. She's all apples now, though. 😀

As for 'time to hit the frog', that rocks. Thanks for taking the time to let me know; the more Strine I hear, the more I like it!

Plus it conjures up images of cane toads getting squished as you pull away, which is a rather accurate image of driving in Queensland...
